Erick Thohir mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Shin Tae-yong melalui akun media sosial-nya pada Sabtu (11/1).
“Terima kasih, coach Shin Tae Yong atas segalanya yang sudah dilakukan buat Timnas Indonesia. Sekarang, waktunya coach Patrick Kluivert memulai lembaran baru di sepak bola Indonesia,” tulis Erick dalam akun Instagram, @erickthohir.
Dalam unggahan yang sama, Erick Thohir mengucapkan selamat datang untuk Kluivert.
PSSI mengumumkan pemecatan Shin Tae-yong sebagai pelatih Timnas Indonesia pada Senin (6/1), posisinya kini digantikan oleh legenda sepak bola Belanda Patrick Kluivert.
Shin Tae-yong sudah mengemban tugas sebagai pelatih Timnas Indonesia sejak tahun 2020.
Pelatih asal Korea Selatan itu menyampaikan rasa terina kasih lewat media sosial pribadinya. Dia juga berterima kasih kepada PSSI, khususnya Erick Thohir sebagai Ketua Umum.
“Pertama-tama saya ingin mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Bapak Erick Thohir, Ketua Umum PSSI, yang telah memberikan dukungan yang sangat besar kepada tim Indonesia kita di posisi ini. Kalau bukan karena Bapak Ketua Umum, kita tidak akan pernah mencapai posisi seperti sekarang ini,” tulisnya pada Sabtu.
Shin Tae-yong berharap bahwa Indonesia bisa meraih hasil maksimal di laga-laga ke depan dan lolos Piala Dunia 2026.
