Duta Besar Ukraina untuk Indonesia Vasyl Hamianin mengatakan bahwa Federasi Rusia tidak memiliki kemampuan untuk menggunakan senjata nuklir.
“Mereka (Rusia) tidak memiliki kemampuan ini,” kata Hamianin pada acara peringatan 1.000 hari invasi Rusia ke Ukraina di Jakarta pada Rabu.
Hal itu disampaikan Hamianin untuk menanggapi pernyataan Rusia yang bakal merespons penggunaan rudal balistik Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) milik AS oleh Ukraina di Wilayah Bryansk, Rusia pada Selasa (19/11).
Hamianin menilai terdapat beberapa alasan bahwa Rusia tidak akan menggunakan senjata nuklir dalam menghadapi Ukraina. Pertama, katanya, Rusia tidak memiliki kemampuan untuk menggunakan senjata nuklir dan alasan kedua mitra dekat Rusia, termasuk China, tidak akan mengizinkan Moskow menggunakan senjata nuklir.
Menurutnya, mitra dekat Federasi Rusia, seperti China, tidak akan mengizinkan mereka menggunakan senjata nuklir karena jika China memutuskan untuk menghentikan bantuan ke Rusia, maka perang akan berakhir.
“Jadi, jika Rusia berpikir untuk menggunakan senjata nuklir, maka China tidak akan berhenti di titik itu, dari banyaknya pembelian minyak, bantuan atau dukungan apa pun, sehingga itu akan menjadi akhir dari perang,” katanya.
Ia kembali menegaskan bahwa Rusia tidak memiliki kemampuan teknis untuk menggunakan senjata nuklir. “Tidak ada kemampuan teknis. Mereka sudah kehilangannya seiring berjalannya waktu”, katanya.
