Menurut Penn Medicine, air garam bisa membantu membunuh bakteri, meredakan rasa sakit, dan mengencerkan lendir sehingga membantu meredakan gejala flu. Jika ingin melegakan hidung tersumbat, coba obat-obatan dekongestan.

Sementara cara terbaik untuk meredakan rasa sakit dan nyeri saat pilek adalah dengan minum parasetamol atau ibuprofen. “Anda bisa meminum dua jenis obat ini bersamaan tapi perhatikan seberapa banyak konsumsinya agar tak berlebihan,” jelasnya.
Bagaimana dengan vitamin C? “Masih terlalu sedikit bukti kalau vitamin ini bisa menyembuhkan pilek,” tutur Govind.
